QUETTA: By implementing the plan to set up Special Economic Zones (SEZs), economic and trade activities will be increased across the province, said Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Wednesday.

While presiding over a meeting regarding establishment of SEZs in various areas of the province, he said through corporate governance, advantages of mineral, agricultural and sea-related production could be achieved.

Trade Secretary Ghulam Ali Baloch briefed the chief minister about lands allocated for SEZs.

Mr Alyani directed the trade department to prepare a feasibility report for setting up an economic zone in Gadani. He said the establishment of an export processing zone in Gadani could boost the economy of Balochistan.
