Policeman dies in accident

KHAIRPUR, July 31: A police constable was killed and three rickshaw passengers were injured in an accident on Saturday night. Two police constables stopped a rickshaw for checking near the Batha police picket on the National Highway when a truck hit it from behind.

Constable Mohammad Azam Maitlo, rickshaw driver Bhooro Phulpoto and passengers Ghulam Qadir and Saheb Dino were injured.

The constable died on the way to hospital while the others were admitted to the Khairpur Civil Hospital. The truck driver escaped.
