SHEIKHUPURA: A woman died after she was allegedly administered wrong injection by a quack in Nawan Pind locality here on Thursday.

According to police, Salma Bibi who was suffering from fever went to a quack, Rasheed, who ran a clinic in the locality, for her treatment.

The quack allegedly administered a wrong injection to the woman, besides giving her some tablets. Later, when she reached home, her condition worsened and she was taken to hospital by her husband where the duty doctor pronounced her dead.

On knowing about the woman’s death, the quack fled away closing his “clinic”.

Sharaqpur police have started investigation.

DIES: A young student of a seminary died allegedly after being hit by a bullet during exchange of fire between two rival groups at Narang Mandi on Thursday.

According to police, Zohaib Ishaq (18) was standing outside the seminary where he studied when two groups exchanged fire over old enmity.

A bullet suddenly hit Zohaib who died on the spot.

Narang Mandi police have started investigation detaining three suspects -- Wasif, Qasim and Usman.
