NAWABSHAH, Jan 14: People of Nawabshah are facing various problems due to no service being provided at the railway station’s inquiry office (No117) after 10:00 pm.
The reason behind the inconvenience is said to be an acute shortage of railway staff at the station. Even an entrance gate to the platform has been closed permanently due to the same reason.
Sometimes a ticket checker, sometimes a stall holder, and sometimes a sweeper have been seen working at the inquiry office even during the day due to the shortage of staff.
When this correspondent contacted the station master, Amani Malik, he elucidated that there was shortage of staff even at the Rohri and Rahim Yar Khan railway stations and all because of the policies of the Pakistan Railways.
