GUJRANWALA, July 30: An expatriate and his son were shot dead while his wife and another son were injured on resistance during a dacoity bid in Vinia village on Sialkot Road on Saturday. Seven masked dacoits entered the house of expatriate and PPP Vinia secretary-general Muhammad Saleem Ranjha by scaling its boundary wall. Armed intruders held the inmates hostage, tied their arms with a rope and started collecting cash and valuables. For raising an alarm, bandits opened fire on inmates, killing Ranjha and his son Fehad Shahzad instantly and injuring his wife Tahira and another son Jaffer Tayyar. The injured were rushed to the local DHQ Hospital where Jaffar was stated to be in serious condition. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to hospital for autopsy.

Killer dacoits managed to escape from the scene when the area people gather outside the house after listening to gunshot fires. Police have registered a case against dacoits-cum-killers. — Correspondent
