SWABI: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar said on Wednesday that he had decided to form a parliamentary committee on the issue of the illegal Indian annexation of the occupied Kashmir.

Mr Qaisar told reporters here that the committee consisting of the representatives of all large and small political parties would recommend ways to effectively respond to the Indian government’s illegal move of revoking the special status of the held Kashmir.

He said India shouldn’t misconstrue Pakistan’s desire for peace as its weakness as it had all capabilities to respond to any misadventure by India befittingly.

“We (government) have focused all our attention on Kashmir issue for peaceful resolution,” he said.

The NA speaker asked the people to shun differences and support the government against the Indian move with one voice.

RALLY: The Jamaat-i-Islami’s Youth Wing took out a rally here on Wednesday to condemn the atrocities of Indian forces against people of the occupied Kashmir.

The participants covered 16 kilometers from Shewa to Karnal Sher Khan Chowk holding placards inscribed with anti-Indian slogans.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, who led the rally, said Pakistani youths were ready to render all possible sacrifices for Kashmir cause.

He said the excesses of Indian forces against the people of occupied Kashmir should be highlighted effectively.

Zubair Kundal of the JI’s Youth Wing said the party’s young activists would play due role in supporting Kashmiri people in their fight for freedom from Indian occupation.

He said the people would be educated about the Indian atrocities against Kashmiris.

“After the illegal annexation of the occupied Kashmir by India, Kashmir’s freedom struggle has entered a new yet critical phase,” he said.

CONDEMNED: The Awami National Party leaders on Wednesday condemned the issuance of death threats by militants to the party’s parliamentary leader in the provincial assembly, Sardar Hussain Babak.

During a meeting here, they said the threatening letter delivered at Mr Babak’s house in Totali area showed the resurfacing of militants in Buner district.

The participants demanded foolproof security for party leaders.
