CHITRAL, July 28: Representatives of 20 community-based organizations (CBOs) have attended a workshop on leadership and management skill training organize by the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) in the provincial headquarters of the organization.

The CBOs are engaged in carrying out development work aimed at poverty alleviation and funded by the SRSP.

Social organizer of a CBO, Noor Ajab Khan, led the trainees who completed the seven-day training workshop.

The participants told Dawn that lectures on development activities, planning and credit management and linkage with other development organizations, stressed the importance of ensuring community participation in a project.

An SRSP official said that a training workshop of the same nature was being organized for women’s CBOs in Chitral by next month.
