New version of CDS from Aug 1

Published July 29, 2005

LAHORE, July 28: The Central Depository Company (CDC) on Thursday announced the launch of a reorganized version of its existing central depository system from August 1. The new system is designed to offer benefits of improved maintainability, better application response time and enhanced data security, says an announcement issued by the CDC.

“As the process of instituting eCDS and ensuring uninterrupted transition from the old to the new system is a complex and time-consuming task, the CDS would not be available to the clients and the CDC’s offices would remain closed on July 30,” a company spokesman said.

The CDC launched re-engineering of the CDS to enhance its efficiency, provide comfort to its clients and improve the working of the market place.

“The project was extensive and multifaceted and involved complete redesigning of the application on multiple tiers, including front-end application, programme design and database management system,” it said.
