Lawyer jailed for contempt

BAHAWALPUR, July 27: Mr Justice Sheikh Hakim Ali of the Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur bench, jailed a lawyer for one month for contempt of court on Wednesday.

Advocate Riaz Hanif Rahi from Rahim Yar Khan was also fined Rs 30,000.

The lawyer, during the hearing of his case, reportedly misbehaved with the judge who announced the sentence on the spot and sent him to the Central Jail. In case of default, his imprisonment period will be doubled.
