BUCHERI Railway Station was established in 1915 on the up track from Nawabshah Railway Station. It was a popular stop as it was a convenient stop for passengers proceeding to smaller towns and villages. In fact it was a stop for eight train services daily.
The railway station facilities were stopped abruptly when it was burned down in December 2007 following the murder of Benazir Bhutto. Many other railway stations in the region were also burned down along with Bucheri. Service at the other stations was restored in weeks, but Bucheri was the only exception. This has created great difficulties for residents.
The residents of Bucheri town and adjacent areas appeal to the railways minister to order restoration of this station.
