LAHORE: A medical student allegedly committed suicide at her home in Harbanspura late on Saturday.

The family came to know about the incident when they found the room of the girl ‘M’ locked from inside and no response from her for a couple of hours.

A police official said the girl was a medical student and her parents alerted police after they unlocked the room and found her hanged with the ceiling fan. He said a police team later probed the incident and there were conflicting reports regarding the motive behind the incident.

The family claimed that she was depressed for the last couple of months over some issues and was not sharing anything with her parents.

Police handed over the body to the family who refused to take any legal action, the official said.
