THE minister of local bodies in Sindh, Saeed Ghani, informed participants at a seminar on the water security plan in Tharparkar that there were 750 reverse osmosis plants installed for Tharis and their animals according to a news item in Dawn (July 7).
This is a commendable effort. I have personally seen them working and changing lives of people. I would request the minister to consider installing one RO plant just for trees.Trees attract rain, provide food for cattle and shade for humans, cattle and birds alike. This RO plant can help infant trees and help sustain an ever expanding forest of domestic species.
