KARAK: The Karak district council approved the annual budget of Rs5.61 billion here the other day.

District nazim Dr Umer Daraz Khattak thanked the councillors for supporting him in passing the budget with consensus.

He claimed that Rs750 million had been earmarked for development expenditures and resolved that basic amenities would be provided to the people.

He said all the district councilors would be given handsome share in the development funds.

GRID STATION INAUGURATED: The deputy commissioner inaugurated the Sabirabad power grid station the other day. On the occasion, he said the project would help resolve the problems of power outages and low voltage.

He asked the people to pay power bills regularly to help Pesco ensure smooth power supply. He appreciated the hard work of Pesco employees for timely completion of the project.

Meanwhile, sources said elected representatives, including MNA Shahid Khattak and MPAs Malik Zafar Azam and Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel were not invited to the inauguration ceremony of the grid station.
