KOHAT: Speaking at a seminar in connection with the World Population Day on Sunday district nazim Naseem Afridi said that due to lack of family planning massive imbalance had been caused between resources and population.

He said the government was aware of the situation and the prime minister was himself heading a task force on population control.

On the occasion, programme manager of Family Planning Association of Pakistan (FPAP) Ajmal Khan said that proper gap between births was essential for health of the child and the mother.

The function held under the auspices of FPAP was also graced Dr Ayaz, youth coordinator, civil society activist Nabeela Gul and local body members.

Ajmal Khan feared that if the population grew at the present pace acute shortage of resources, food and houses would be created. He said that future generations would suffer from malnutrition.

HOUSING SCHEME: Adviser to chief minister on education, MPA Ziaullah Bangash has claimed that the chief minister has approved a new housing scheme and education city for Kohat.

He said keeping in view the residential needs of the people of Kohat the chief minister had recently asked for PC-1s of both the projects.

He stated this during inspection visit of the sites of the projects.

He said keeping in view the snowballing prices of property the government had launched the schemes to facilitate the common citizens.
