Bad habits to avoid during vacation

This is regarding the cover story “Bad habits to avoid during vacation” by Ambreen Arshad (YW, June 8). I appreciate the ideas shared by the writer for those on vacation.

I admit that I have been spending my whole day at home doing nothing but using Whatsapp and Facebook over and over again. When I read this article, I felt embarrassed and immediately went to buy some books to read.

In this way, I think now I will use my time wisely and gain lots of knowledge from books. I thank YW for publishing such articles, it truly helped me a great deal.

Little steps, big change

This is with reference to the article “Little steps, big change” by Behram Faiq Rana (YW, April 13). The message given in the article is not only for students, but also for the entire nation. Wherever we are, be it at home, park, school, college and universities, every place should be kept clean. And also, we should encourage everyone to save the resources of our country.

It’s a deal then

This is with reference to the story, “It’s a deal then!” by Maha Ali (YW, June 1). The theme of the story is engrossing; it inspires and stimulate women that they can be great business persons.

The article highlights the point that women can also think out of the box. Every single person has different qualities and skills which they should use for their better future. In the story, Emma was shown to have a great quality of being good writer but, besides all that, she was great in maths as well.

The story encourages every girl, in fact all readers, to examine their qualities and abilities, and what they can do about them.

Happiness

In today’s world, people relate their happiness with material things or things which are still unclear to them. For example, they say they will be happy if they get a job, they will be happy if they get this or that. It is actually postponing their happiness in the present for something in the future.

People forget that their future depends on their present. If they are not happy today due to something they are hoping will happen to them in the future, they are actually stopping themselves from enjoying the present for a future that has no surety.

Remember kids, happiness should come from inside, not from outside. The outside is temporary, but inside will have greater impact on you.

Four hundred seats?

Four hundred seats?

The mix of divisive cultural politics and growth-oriented economics that feeds Hindu middle-class ambition and provides targeted welfare are key ingredients in the BJP’s political trajectory.
