GUJRANWALA, July 22: Four people, including an expatriate, his wife and a son, were killed in a road accident near Chenab river bridge in Wazirabad on Friday. Reports said that Abdul Razzaq had come from Italy while his wife Samina and son Faisal went to the Lahore airport to receive him. They were returning to Kotla village by a taxi cab (LOE-2213) when it collided head-on with a truck (RIL-4544) at river Chenab bridge. Consequently, driver Zulfikar Ahmad, Samina and his son died on the spot while Razzaq received serious injuries. He was rushed to the Wazirabad THQ Hospital where he died as well.

Motorway police handed over the bodies and valuables to their heirs after autopsy.

HOUSE LOOTED: Three armed bandits looted a house and decamped with Rs1.23 million in cash, 20 tolas of gold, two cell phones and other valuables in Cantonment here on Friday.

Three outlaws barged into the house of Chaudhry Muhammad Ishaq, the father of slain PPP city president Chaudhry Khalid Humayun. The intruders held hostage guard Mazhar Ali and other family members and locked them in a room. Later, they collected cash, jewellery and other valuables and made good their escape.
