KARACHI, July 22: The vice-chancellor of Hamdard University, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Qureshi, on Friday met the chairman of PIA, Tariq Kirmani. A press release said the vice-chancellor applauded the steps taken by Mr Kirmani to make the airline a customer-friendly organization. It said that the recent reduction in PIA fares had provided great relief to the people of Pakistan, especially overseas Pakistanis.

According to the press release, Mr Kirmani apprised Dr Qureshi of new administrative measure, which would turn PIA into a more profit making organization without compromising on the standards of service being provided by the national carrier.

“They agreed to initiate a collaborative programme in training human resource by sharing experience and resources in the fields of management, information technology, education and engineering”, it added.

“He assured Dr Qureshi of his organisation’s support in developing first class human resource in the country”, it said.
