Maryam Nawaz to attend APC at JUI-F chief's invitation: sources

PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz has accepted an invitation extended by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to attend an all-parties conference to be held on June 26, a well-placed source within the party told DawnNewsTV on Sunday.
The JUI-F chief, who will be hosting the event, had telephoned Maryam to invite her to attend the APC, the source confirmed on condition of anonymity.
Opposition party leaders had, at an iftar hosted by PPP co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, announced their plans to "launch protests inside and outside the parliament after Eidul Fitr" and hold an APC to "chalk out a joint strategy on how to tackle the problems facing Pakistan".
A JUI-F spokesperson on Saturday night announced that the meeting would be held on June 26, with senior PPP, PML-N, Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), and Awami National Party leaders all expected to attend.
During the meeting, important decisions will be made regarding the opposition's joint strategy, including plans of a possible 'lockdown' against the government, the statement had said.
The opposition also plans to discuss whether to accept the formation of a Commission of Inquiry ordered by Prime Minister Imran Khan to probe a rise in public indebtedness over the last decade, the terms of which were announced on Friday.
Among other items on the agenda will be a possible change in the Senate leadership and the passage of the recently presented budget for 2019-20, debate over which has been ongoing in the National Assembly.
The venue for the conference is yet to be announced.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman congrat PM Imran Khan on wining the elections, and sought an audience initially, to discuss ways & means for cooperation. But PMIK
being not a politician missed the ball. And now MFR will certainly give a tough time to PM IK, and PM IK okays Charter of Economy a new name to NRO.
About recovery of money from corrupt will remain a dream. No doubt the people in general will feel the inflation blows, their written or unwritten destiny. Pak will
keep on stragedy of one off one on. Status quo will prevail with little cosmetic affects.

It is sad to see both of them, who need to be elsewhere enjoying life but thrust into a role neither of them is fit for or can cope with. Even many party workers disagree with that stance. PML N is split at its core. Chaudhry Nisar also left for same reasons. Maraym cannot understand it

Maryam Safdar, an unelected politician who is currently out of jail on bail and has no other credentials but being the daughter of a jailed 3 times ex prime minister, will attend the APC headed by Maulana Fazl ur Rehman, a politician who was totally rejected by the electorate, and was not able to answer when asked to name some achievements during his 14/15 year tenure as the chairman of Kashmir committee. Let us see what such an APC brings for the future of Pakistan.

@Laila, Someone asked Sir Anwar Pervez, a business tycoon in UK, as to why he did not invest more in Pakistan after his initial investment in Bestway cement business. Amongst various reasons, one was the number of phone calls, he had received about appointing influential persons' sons and daughters in key positions even though they had no other experience. I often wonder what qualification does Mrs Maryam Safdar have to be in that position. And if it is not stopped, I am sure Junaid Safdar and others would also be ready to serve their Pakistani awam in years to come.

You are completely spot on. I agree. Its horrible because the fundamentals of your system and society are flawed. Nepotism, corruption, pressure if you dont follow the norm and real threat to your life or that of your family.
It is not a country for people who want to live honestly. We need to change it. Claim it back. Thats why this has to stop. I am just not sure anymore if we can stop it. The repreccusions of going against the stream are huge in our society. I dont see the same threats in other countries. How did this happen to us?

I wish only if you was the lawyer of NS he would have gone free. All you need was to say that you don't have evidence.
