NAB files reference against Mustafa Kamal in case pertaining to illegal allotment of land

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday filed a reference against Pak Saarzameen Party leader Mustafa Kamal in a case of the alleged illegal allotment of 5,500 square metres of land on the sea side.

The reference was filed in a Karachi accountability court.

According to the reference, Sindh Director General Building Control Authority Iftikhar Kaimani, Fazlur rehman, Mumtaz Haider and Nazir Zardari were also involved in the alleged illegal activity.

According to NAB, the land had been leased to shop owners and hawkers in 1980 and then in 2005, the DJ Buildiers acquired the land on a lease.

The former city mayor was involved in allowing the construction company to build a skyscraper on the land, NAB has said in the reference.

Over time NAB has changed from an independent organization to a part of the ruling government to intimidate and fabricate cases against opponents and opposition parties.

In addition all the houses worth millions in almost every city of Sindh and major cities of Pakistan. Please inquire who is funding all this. How Mustafa Kamal's family is enjoying a luxurious life in Dubai. Mustafa Kamal should be taken in for questioning and thorough investigation.

@Farhiha Khan, We Pakistanis are strange. We complain of inefficiency if an organisation does not do it's job, and bias if it does. If anyone, specially in a public office, has done something wrong, they must be checked. If they avail their opportunity to give an explanation of innocence under the law, the courts will free them . If they are guilty, they must be punished as the law provides. Treating the law as a joke, as is fashionable presently, has to stop if we are to develop into a civilised nation. We need to support across the board accountability, not judge any charge baseless without knowing the full details when anyone we support personally is asked to explain apparent anomalies in their conduct.

Mustafa Kamal is quite capable and smart for his decisions and prerogatives. Let there be transparent probe, and if NAB found to be wrong, like baseless accusations than it should be prepared to pay compensation to Mustafa Kamal.

Well, an accountability bureau is meant to do what its name says and once the main rats have been trapped and the Govt gets stronger, it will cover people from within as well. It will take a long time to flush out the vermin from our country.. But at least the process has begun. Hats off, I say.
