KARACHI: The Sindh Softball Association (SSA) is organising committee’s chairman Mohammad Nasir received a gold medal from Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) President Lt Gen.(R) Syed Arif Hasan in recognition of his fine services for the game of softball.

“To promote sports, to hunt new talent and to provide proper environment for sportspersons at the grounds, organizers play important role so their services cannot be ignored,” Gen (r) Arif said on the occasion of presenting the gold medal to Nasir.

Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) Secretary Asif Azeem stated that the federation will award gold medal every year for recognition of hard workers, who would be contributing for the development and promotion of the game of softball. “SFP has selected Nasir for the award this year,” he said.

Nasir has been awarded the gold medal for his 20-year services for promoting the game of softball in the province.

SOA Vice President Waseem Hashmi, Secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput, SFP Chairperson Tehmina Asif, Vice President Mohammad Zeeshan Merchant, Murad Hussain, Faraz Ejaz and others were also present on the occasion.

Arif praised SFP for recognizing an organizer’s services towards sports and sportspersons in their lifetime. “Other federations should also need to follow in SFP’s footsteps,” he said. He further praised SFP Secretary Asif for initiating this recognition process for hard working organisers.
