MULTAN: The Lahore High Court, Multan bench, has summoned the secretary local government and community development and others for not issuing development funds to PPP MPA Syed Ali Haidar Gilani for his constituency.

The son of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani filed a petition against the secretary concerned, commissioner, deputy commissioner and district accounts officer stating that he was elected as MPA from PP-211 and is filing the petition for the community benefits of the people of his constituency who are being deprived by the respondents by not issuing appropriate funds.

He stated that after passing of the bill of Punjab local government act 2019, the local government of the district has been dissolved and all funds entrusted to district council have now been shifted to the DC being an administrative official till the election of the local government. And the funds are now being spent on the constituencies of the PTI MNAs and MPAs while his constituency are being deprived of development.

He stated that the behaviour adopted by the DC is the violation of the Constitution despite he (DC) being the administrator is under obligation to provide equal treatment to all the people of the state that come under his domain.

Justice Rasaal Hasan Syed while issuing the notices to the respondents summoned them on June 11.
