Report on new dams finalized

ISLAMABAD, July 19: Chairman of the Technical Committee on Water Resources A.N.G. Abbasi has finalized a draft report on construction of new dams and overall water availability. Informed sources told Dawn that Mr Abbasi held a meeting with minister for water and power Liaqat Ali Jatoi on Tuesday and discussed the subject. Mr Abbasi when contacted said the president had given him a deadline of Aug 31 to submit the report and hopefully he would positively meet the deadline. He said the preparation of the report was moving in the right direction.

He said he had a courtesy call on the minister. He said his report would be in the larger interest of the nation and the country.
