1,812 file nomination papers

BANNU, July 19: At least 1,812 candidates have filed their nomination papers for 637 seats of 49 union councils of Bannu district here on Tuesday. The Aurat Foundation constituted the DCC Committee to maximize female participation in the upcoming local bodies’ elections. Lawyers, journalists, doctors and social workers organized an election camp in the district Katchery. Maximum participation of women and induction of female members in the DCC women wings of different political parties and minority organizations will be motivated so as to resolve the grievances of women on a democratic forum.—APP
