BANNU: Five people were killed in various incidents here on Friday. According to police, two people were killed when a horse-driven cart hit their motorcycle on Bannu-Naurang road. The victims were identified as Adnan Khan and Younas Khan, both residents of Ameen Mughalkhel.
The bodies were taken to the DHQ hospital for postmortem. The Meerakhel police registered the case on the complaint of Maqsoom Ali, uncle of one of the victims, and have started investigations.
In another incident, a man was seriously injured over resistance to give up his pistol when three unidentified people tried to snatch it from him in Bakakhel police station limits. He was taken to the DHQ hospital, but did not survive.
The victim told the police in his dying declaration that the three accused fired at him in a bid to snatch a pistol from him and escaped. He was identified as Baidal.
In a similar incident, unidentified accused shot dead one Noor Hakeem in Domanza Kurram Garhi area. The victim belonged to Saidgi area of North Waziristan tribal district. Police have registered the case. Also in the day, a man identified as Mohammad Usman allegedly committed suicide in Narmikhel area. The area police have registered the case.
Meanwhile, unidentified motorcyclists allegedly snatched over Rs1.4 million from the employees of a mobile phone franchise in Goshala area.
The employees, Adnan and Afzal, told the city police that three motorcyclists intercepted them when they were taking the cash to a bank and snatched the money from them at gunpoint.
