KASUR: A team of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) on Wednesday raided the Sarai Mughal police station in Pattoki and disconnected its power supply for having illegal connection.

The power to the adjacent quarters of the police officials was also being used through illegal means.

Lesco issued notices to the SHO to clear the outstanding amount of Rs128,848 on May 23. The letter No 1726 included warning to the SHO that the power supply would be disconnected.

SDO Amjad Iqbal in his application submitted to the Pattoki DSP stated that SHO Sher Muhammad Pasha was using direct supply from the transmission line and four air-conditioners were being used on the police station premises. The SDO demanded registration of a criminal case under section 462 (1) of PPC against SHO Pasha.

Videos and pictures of the Lesco team’s raid at the police station also went viral on the social media. The IGP took notice of the incident and sought report from the Kasur police.
