The police arrested three suspects and sent samples for DNA tests. Also, unidentified suspect raped a minor (three and a half years old) Christian girl at her house in Chak Kheena, Sambrial tehsil.

According to the first information report, the minor girl was alone at the upper portion of her house where the suspect raped her. The family rushed to the upper portion after listening to her cries.

The suspect fled the scene threatening them with consequences. The minor girl was admitted to the Sambrial Tehisl Headquarters Civil Hospital in a critical condition.

On the report of victim’s father, the Sambrial police registered a case with no arrest.

KILLED: Two tenants were killed in the crossfire between the two rival groups -- Shabir Nagra and Tahir Bajwa -- over a land dispute in village Kotli Baba Heera-Satrah, Daska tehsil, on Thursday.

The tenants of the Bajwa group were working in fields when several armed accused from the Nagra group came there. Both groups exchanged fire leaving tenants Kashif Ali, 27, and Adnan, 30, killed.

Dozens of the local people placed bodies in front of the Satrah police station and protested against the police for not responding to calls. They chanted anti-police slogans and kept the traffic blocked for three hours from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

They demanded the early arrest of the accused. Later, the senior police officials negotiated with the protesters and assured them about the early arrest of accused. The police shifted bodies to the Daska Civil Hospital for autopsy.

The police are investigating into the issue.
