KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Wednesday directed all police officials to step up security measures and intelligence surveillance to prevent any untoward incident ahead of Eidul Fitr.

The IGP came up with the directive in a meeting on overall law and security measures and traffic regulations in the metropolis.

He said the police should to take necessary steps for strengthening the security of citizens by deploying policemen in shopping centers and other sensitive areas of the megacity.

The IGP also urged police to utilise their abilities and ensure proper traffic flow in Karachi, specially around shopping centers and markets.
