I HAIL from Sindh and live in the federal capital. Besides me there are about 25,000 Sindhi families living in Islamabad. Our quandary is that there a few localities in the city where most cable operators are not willing to include Sindhi news channels in their bouquet of channels offered, and their behaviour is generating a sense of alienation among the Sindhi people in Islamabad.

It is our national tragedy that the people of Pakistan are mostly unaware of the culture, language and traditions of other ethnic groups.

I feel that the cable operators of Islamabad showing channels of different languages spoken in Pakistan will help bring these linguistic entities closer to each other and help in national integration.

I request the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority chairman to direct Islamabad’s cable operators to show at least two Sindhi news channels and channels in other languages spoken in Pakistan.
