Saudi Arabia say oil giant Aramco's sites targeted

Saudi Arabia says oil infrastructure sites belonging to the country's state-run oil company Aramco have been targeted and that at least one of the attacks was carried out by drone strikes.
The announcement came shortly after Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed an assault on the kingdom.
The state Saudi Press Agency quoted Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih as saying that between 6-6.30am on Tuesday, a petroleum pumping station supplying an east-west pipeline between the Eastern Province and to the Yanbu Port on the Red Sea was targeted by drones.
He said a fire broke out at a station along the pipeline and was subsequently put out. Aramco has temporarily stopped pumping petroleum through the pipeline until inspection of the damage is complete.
The kingdom's state security body also said two oil infrastructure sites in the greater region of Riyadh, its landlocked capital, were targeted at the same time.
The statement described it as a “limited targeting” of petroleum stations in areas al-Dudami and Afif in Riyadh region.

Something quite strange is going on. Yesterday, UAE announced some attack on a couple of tankers. Today Saudis announce this. Now these are regimes which hardly provide any details when it comes to small events let alone such attacks. USA has also sent a naval fleet to the gulf to up the pressure on ante. I imagine something big is cooking up in the courts of some Arab countries, Washington, and allies.

@fairplay, Based on recent developments in O&G sector, Aramco has ramped up oil production recently as many refineries along the Arabian Sea and Red Sea have gone through Shutdowns and Turnarounds for ramping up production.
Saudi Arabia wants to dominate oil production and ensure their people are happy to ensure popular opinion about the crown prince, with Venezuela tanking off oil production due to govt instability, there seems to be no end to our woes.
Oil price shooting up will cause a lot of panic here. PTI needs to pull a miracle here, but it seems to be following old mantras of previous govts.
We were promised the moon, but in the end we are forced to live with a useless rock.

I could never understand problem of US with Iran. Iranis are so good and contributed so much to India, ex.-Tatas. Even one of our minister in central govt has Irani as her surname. We love Iran. One may draw an offshoot conclusion that our love for Iran shows we Indians are secular in spirit.
