SWABI: A man killed his wife when she demanded return of her dowry to prevent him from having a third marriage, police said on Monday.

Sadiq Khan belonging to Dobian village had got registered an FIR in Yar Hussain police station on April 27, stating that he was cleaning his pistol when it suddenly went off, killing his wife on the spot.

However, the police doubted the claim and started investigations into the case. Later, they arrested Sadiq, who during investigations, confessed that he killed his wife.

The officials who conducted the investigation said the deceased first tried to prevent her husband from third marriage, and when he did not budge, then she demanded that he return a five-marla house and jewellery that were given to him in dowry.

Meanwhile, the police have traced the killer of Gul Farosh of Amrai Bala village of Gadoon Amazai, who was murdered on April 24.

The police arrested Sabaz Ali, a resident of the same village, and during investigations, he revealed that he killed Farosh over a property dispute.
