KARACHI: Pakistan Netball Federation has selected the Karachi Gram­mar School (middle section) to participate in the Wav­erley International Schools Netball Championship 2019 which is scheduled to be held at Melbourne, Australia from July 2-5, PNF President Mudassar Arain informed on Saturday.

School teams from various countries will take part in this mega event including New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Jamaica. Thailand, England, Soma and the Aust­r­alian States (New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania).

The Karachi Grammar School (KGS) has announced their squad for the high profile event which comprises the following players: Areesha Farhan, Emaan Zubair, Malaika Jafrani, Mariyam Abdul Qadir, Myra Tahir, Tia Aftab, Tooba Saad, Zahra Fauzil Azim, Zara Rizwan, Rifah Ali, Hamda Fatima Uqaili, Esha Sharjeel, Malaika Aman Khan, Myra Iman Bilal Khan, Saleena Ali Haleem, Raina Abid, Syed Zuariaz Sohail, Syeda Xehra Fatima Agha.

Ernestine Lucas Bernard will be the manager of the team while Saima Ishaque will be the assistant manager and Yasir Jawaid will be the coach. The training and coaching camp in preparation for the event is currently in progress at KGS netball ground under the supervision of Pakistan Netball Federation.
