LAHORE, July 13: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, Punjab Assembly Speaker Afzal Sahi and National Assembly’s Standing Committee chairman Sardar Tufail Ahmad have expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the train tragedy near Ghotki on Wednesday morning. In separate statements, they prayed that may Allah rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the members of the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

They also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.

Mr Elahi said he equally shared the pathos of the heirs of the deceased.

Sardar Tufail also assured the families that the NA body would hold an inquiry into the tragedy and make the report public. The railways employees found responsible for the accident would not be spared, he said.
