SHANLGA: Police here on Thursday claimed to have seized over two kilogrammes of charas and arrested two women smugglers. The contraband was being smuggled from Peshawar to Aloch in Puran tehsil.

Shangla DPO Syed Rasool Shah told mediapersons here on Thursday that following a tip-off a team of Aloch police stopped a car at Yakhtangay tourist spot and during search it recovered over 2kg of charas from the vehicle. He said that two women were arrested from the car.

Mr Shah said both the women belonged to Mashokhel area of Peshawar. Police registered cases the women and have sent them to judicial lockup.

Meanwhile, the police claimed to have arrested alleged drug peddler Shujaat Ali from Kotkay and registered a case against him.

In another such case, police arrested on Bakht Baidar during a raid on his home at Chakesar and allegedly recovered 510 grams of charas. Police said that a case was registered against Bakht Baidar and he had been sent behind bars.
