CHITRAL: Jamaat-i-Islami emir Senator Sirajul Haq has said that no movement or struggle is required to topple the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government as it will crumble itself any time because of its ‘failed’ policies.

He claimed that the government had proved to be a ‘house of cards’ as people were constantly alienating from it due to its retrogressive and unpopular measures aimed at only increasing poverty and misery.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said the commodities of daily use were drifting beyond the purchasing capacity of common man and the phenomenal rise in the prices of medicines had no parallel in the country’s history.

Mr Haq insisted that all the promises of PTI proved to be eye-wash and hollow which had been propagated during the election days to mislead the people, while it had been proved that Imran Khan and his coterie had no vision for good governance except ‘abusing’ the opposition.

He said the overseas Pakistanis had pinned great hopes on the PTI government and had played a significant role in its favour in the elections but they had been greatly disappointed by the government’s ‘failures and U-turns’.

Mr Haq claimed that the government was failing on every front, including legislation, adding it was is shameful attempt on its part to promulgate ordinances thereby neglecting and bypassing the parliament, which was tantamount Siraj predicts govt’s fall because of ‘failed’ policies to disgracing the voters across the country.

“No attempt to subvert the parliamentary system of government prevailing in the country will meet success and those talking about the presidential system are virtually living in the fool’s paradise,” he said, vowing to resist any such attempt.

The JI leader also came down hard on the PTI government for its failure to restore the physical infrastructure of Chitral district affected by flash floods and devastating earthquake four years ago, and asked the government to turn attention towards the remote area which had great potential of contributing to economy in the form of tourism, water resources and minerals.

“The people of Chitral should be major beneficiaries of the government’s promised 10 million jobs and five million houses keeping in view the magnitude of their suffering caused by the natural disasters,” he said.

The JI leader stressed the need for passing the alternative route of CPEC through Chitral and connecting the district with Tajikistan and other central Asian states which will prove a game changer for the hitherto backward district of the country.

Mr Haq was flanked by MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, district nazim Maghfirat Shah and district emir Maulana Jamshed Ahmed.

Earlier, the JI chief addressed the party workers in the Markaz Islami.
