KARACHI, July 11: Former cricket captain Javed Miandad said on Monday that his son would marry the daughter of Dawood Ibrahim on July 23. Mr Miandad, who in June denied that his son was set to wed this month, confirmed the date after weeks of speculation. “I would like to announce that my son’s wedding is due on July 23 in Dubai and a reception from our side will be held later in Karachi,” Mr Miandad told journalists.

Mr Ibrahim, the son of a former police constable, is wanted in India on the charge of masterminding serial bombings in March 1993.
