LAHORE: Tyres and other valuables were gutted in a fire that broke out in a tyre shop on Gurumangat Road on Monday.

The Rescue 1122 received a call about the fire in the shop located near Pepsi Factory. The fire spread steadily due to the inflammable stuff stored in the shop.

A spokesperson for the Rescue 1122 said the fire had spread to two more tyre shops. However, the firefighters managed to contain the blaze timely, he said and added that the fire damaged some portion of the adjoining tyre shops.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained, he said.
