LAHORE, Jan 12: The city district councillors on Saturday formed a 22-member committee to advance their demands for pay and privileges.

The committee was constituted by holding a draw at a meeting of representatives of the district, town, union council and special interests councillors held at the Jinnah Hall. The city district Naib Nazim, Farooq Amjad Mir, was in the chair in the absence of Nazim Amir Mahmood who was indisposed.

The councillors resolved to continue their struggle till the acceptance of their demands. It was decided that the pay and privileges committee should call on the National Reconstruction Bureau chairman, Lt-Gen Tanvir Naqvi (retired), Governor Lt-Gen Khalid Maqbul (retired), and Minister for Local Government Minister Brigadier Hamid Saeed (retired).
