MANSEHRA: Two persons, including an army soldier, were killed when a speeding truck hit a motorcycle in Pugla area of Mansehra district on Monday night.

Sad Ali, stated to be an army soldier, and his friend, Nabeel were on way to Mansehra on a motorcycle from Pulga area when a speeping truck hit their bike leaving both of them seriously injured.

The locals rushed to the scene and shifted both of the injured to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.

The police lodged FIR of the incident and were making efforts to arrest the truck driver who managed to flee from the area following the accident.

Meanwhile, the Mansehra police claimed to have arrested 58 outlaws wanted in murder and attempted murder cases in the district during a crackdown launched on the criminals last week.

According to a statement, during the search and strike operation, 25 pistols, three rifles, eight guns, one Kalashnikov, and rounds were also seized.

The statement further said that huge cache of narcotics was also seized during the operation.

The personnel of various police stations seized 64kg of charas, 125 grams of heroin and arrested many narcotics peddlers.
