CHARSADDA: The first-ever three-day national Pushkalwati paintings and calligraphy competition and exhibition concluded here on Monday.

Over 300 artists and calligraphists from Pakistan, Afghanistan, UAE, India and UK were awarded cash prizes and awards during the concluding ceremony.

Thousands of people thronged the event to see paintings, portraits and other art pieces displayed during the exhibition.

The concluding ceremony was held at Abdul Wali Khan Sport Complex. The event was attended among others by district nazim Fahd Azam Khan, MNA Malka Anwar Taj, noted PTV calligraphist Rashid Bhatti, director sports Saleem Raza, renowned calligraphists from across the country, poets, artists and students.

President of Muhammadzai Union of Journalist Faiz Mohammad was given first Pushkalwati award and certificate for his meritorious services in the field of journalism.
