KARACHI: The weather turned pleasant in the early part of the day after several parts of the city received light showers on Wednesday when a fresh system of rain entered the city.

An official at the Met office said that though the fresh system developed after the westerly entering Balochistan from Iran had turned weak, it was likely to persist over the upper parts of the country for a few days that would affect Balochistan and other regions of the country. Owing to that, he said, there were chances of a brief spell of drizzle in parts of Karachi.

Temperature in the metropolis dropped after different parts of the city received light rain. Those areas included Surjani Town, New Karachi, Sohrab Goth, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Malir, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Nazimabad, M.A. Jinnah Road, SITE Area, Liaquatabad and Orangi Town. The temperature, a senior Met official said, was recorded at 22 degrees Centigrade in the evening.
