Breach inundates six villages

JACOBABAD, July 7: A 70 feet wide breach occurred in the Koreja Canal in the jurisdiction of Mauladad police station, Jacobabad district, on Thursday. Six villages Ghulam Shabbir Jakhrani, Ghulam Nabi Jakhrani, Munawar Ali Jakhrani, Aslam haheem, Akram Thaheem and Gaznavi Jakhrani were inundated due to the breach. Crops standing over 500 acres of land and thousands of maunds grain were damaged. Later, the irrigation staff reached at the spot and plugged the breach.

BOY DROWN: A teenage boy, Liaquat Ali Kanrani, 12, drowned in the Pat Feeder Canal, near Bahu Khoso, Thul, on Thursday. The boy was drowned while taking bath in the canal.
