Ambassador Sewa Lamsal Adhikari and defence attaché Col Hem Raj KC hosted a reception in Serena Hotel to mark Nepal’s Army Day last week. The event was well attended by diplomats and a large number of military attaches in Pakistan, as well as members of the civil society, business community and other friends of Nepal.
The chief guest on the occasion was Lt Gen Azhar Saleh Abbasi, chief of logistics staff, GHQ.
During the event videos were screened to show some of tasks and achievements of the Nepal Army, including its work in peace keeping missions, where it also cooperates with Pakistani personnel.
A photo session was held of different groups of guests, including the defence attaches from all countries, the Saarc group, diplomatic dignitaries including former Pakistani envoys to Nepal.
The close relations between Nepal and Pakistan were evident at the reception, and the close friendship between the people on either side of Himalayas made the evening particularly pleasant.
The buffet dinner included dishes from Nepal as well as Pakistan, and people mingled in an atmosphere of spring and warmth.
