FAISALABAD, July 7: The tehsil municipal officer (city), in the capacity of TMA caretaker, suspended Land Officer Ghulam Rasool from service and issued a notice to him under the Removal from Service (Special Power) Ordinance, 2000, for allegedly presenting bogus matriculation certificate to get the government job. The notice said that a fraud case had been registered against the land officer for presenting the bogus certificate. The other government agencies concerned, including Nadra, besides the actual holder of the certificate have already declared it as bogus.
It warned the officer that if he failed to appear before the issuing authority, along with a written reply and the original certificate, an ex-parte decision would be taken.
A former TMA councillor, Abdul Hafeez Bawa, had moved the department high-ups against the land officer.
FAKE PACKING: Five persons were held for printing fake packing material of pesticides in a raid on Wednesday night.
Reports said the Factory Area police, along with the Agriculture department officials raided a printing press and recovered 20,000 bags and other packing material of pesticides, with labels of renowned national and foreign firms. The printing material was allegedly being used to produce fake pesticides.
The police arrested Zahid, Zulfiqar, Umer Sadiqui, Sajid and Muhammad Irfan and booked them under the relevant laws.
BODY FOUND: The body of a young unidentified boy was found lying in the playgrounds adjacent to the University of Agriculture on Wednesday night.
Reports said that some people informed the Civil Lines police about the body.
The police found that the body had bullet marks and was damaged by animals. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy. However, no whereabouts of the deceased or his killers have so far been traced.
