KARACHI: New unit at NICVD

Published January 13, 2002

KARACHI, Jan 12: The fully-equipped and renovated five-bed Coronary Care Unit 1 of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases was inaugurated on Saturday at a simple ceremony.

The inner-wheel Rotary Metropolitan had raised funds for the renovation and equipments for the unit through various fund-raising activities. The NICVD at present has three CCU’s with a combined capacity of 30 beds.

Construction work is also underway in full force for a hospital wing to house the OPD wing and an angiography and surgery theatre on the floor above. This project is also being financed through donors’ contributions.
