KARACHI, Jan 12: The accountability court-IV, headed by Judge Mohammed Javed Alam, deferred on Saturday the hearing of an accountability reference against former prime minister Benazir Bhutto pertaining to 1,393 illegal appointments and transfers/postings in PIA in violation of rules and regulations, during her previous tenure as prime minister.

The court adjourned the hearing as one of the accused, former director administration PIA Ghulam Qadir Shah Jamote, did not appear in the court due to the death of his father-in-law. The court fixed Jan 21 the next date of hearing.—PPI
