KARACHI, July 7: The Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs, Manzoor Ali Panhwar, said the teachings of Islam were based on harmony, morality, peace and brotherhood and there was no room for hatred and prejudice in Islam. “We have distanced ourselves from such noble values as a result of which the entire Muslim ummah has become victim of various problems and difficulties”.

He expressed these views in a meeting with the khateeb of the Badshahi Masjid Lahore, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, at his residence here on Thursday.

The vice-chairman of Jamia Islamia Clifton Karachi, Mufti Abu Huraira and Dr Abdul Khalil Saudi from Saudi Arabia were also present on the occasion.

The minister stressed the need for an early formation of Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen, Sindh Forum.

The khateeb of the Badshahi Masjid said that the Punjab forum of the Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen had been established.

He called for the formation of the Ittehad’s Sindh forum at the earliest so that religious harmony could be promoted.

The minister assured that the Sindh forum of the Ittehad would be brought into existence soon.—APP
