KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail inaugurated the Governor’s Complaint Cell at the Governor House here on Monday where public can lodge their complaints.

People can also file their complaints electronically on website www.governorsindh.gov.pk.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Ismail said it was the prime responsibility of the government to provide relief to the citizens at their doorstep and ensure that their grievances be addressed comprehensively. People of Pakistan in general and Karachiites in particular had given the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) a mandate for the purpose, he added.

He said that most of the time public faced problems due to various reasons, including inefficiency of government officials, and added that when complaints reached the relevant offices, it took months to respond to those complaints.

Keeping in view those problems, the governor said, he would personally monitor the complaints received at the Governor’s Complaint Cell to ensure that the issues got proper response from relevant institutions or departments.

The governor also directed all the provincial departments to fully cooperate with the cell and ensure prompt reply of any query or complaint forwarded to them so that unnecessary hassle to the masses could be prevented.

The governor said the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) played a vital role in liaison with law enforcement agencies and public. “Today we are returning more than 100 snatched and [stolen] mobile phones to citizens, which have been recovered with the coordinated efforts of the Karachi Electronic Dealers Association, LEAs and CPLC,” he elaborated.
