KARACHI, July 6: As many as 110 cell phone sets were either snatched or stolen by bandits in various parts of the city on Wednesday. Similarly, two cars and 13 motorcycles were either snatched or stolen on Wednesday. Most reports of cell phone theft were reported from the Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Gulberg and Saddar.

During the last two months, 300 cell phones have been blocked by the service providers on CPLC information, suggesting that handsets are stolen or snatched.

Off the 300 blocked cell phones, 55 have been returned to the CPLC. Subsequently, CPLC have traced the owners and 40 sets have been returned to the owners.

Since July 1, 429 cell phones have either been stolen or snatched in different parts of the city.

During the same period, 51 cars and 76 motorcycles have either been snatched or stolen by bandits in various parts of the city.
