HYDERABAD, July 5: Federal Minister for Water and Power, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, paid a surprise visit to Lakhra and Jamshoro power houses on Monday and expressed annoyance over the ‘carefree’ attitude of the officials. According to Hesco sources, Mr Jatoi had ordered an inquiry against the officials concerned. Some employees told the minister that their problems had not been resolved by the officials.

The minister directed the officials to take up all pending cases of the employees immediately.

Mr Jatoi also announced regularization of services of low-paid employees.

The minister directed the chief engineer of Jamshoro power houses to submit a report and details of expenditure incurred in the last three years.

MUET: Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, announced on Tuesday that the candidates for admission to first year engineering, Architecture, City and Regional Planning for the session 2005-2006 at the MUET were required to produce domicile, permanent residence certificate (form-C), intermediate (pre-engineering/general science) and matriculation pass and marks certificates.

The university also announced that candidates residing in the newly-created districts would be required to submit fresh domicile and permanent residence certificate of the districts concerned.

SPSC: The controller of examinations, Sindh Public Service Commission, Hyderabad, has announced the names of successful candidates for the post of Principal BPS-19 in Bureau of Curriculum and Extension Wing, Jamshoro, Sindh.
