MULTAN: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) awarded its ticket for PP-218 to Malik Wasif Mazhar Raan, the son of late MPA Malik Mazhar Abbas Raan.

The seat had fallen vacant after the death of Mazhar Abbas Raan on Jan 16.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a schedule for by-election in the constituency according to which the polling will be held on March 31.

Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Zain Hussain Qureshi handed over the party ticket to Malik Wasif with a direction to run his campaign effectively.

TRAFFIC: The City Traffic Police has declared five city roads model to improve traffic flow.

According to a handout issued on Wednesday on the direction of RPO Wasim Ahmad Khan, six roads including Qaswar Gardezi Road from Pul Mauj Darya to High Court Chowk, Abdali Road from SP Chowk to Nawan Shaher Chowk, Humayun Road from Chungi No 9 to Khayam Cinema Chowk, Bosan Road from Chungi No 9 to Chungi No 6, and Sabzi Mandi Road from Qazafi Chowk to Hamza Chowk have been declared as model roads.
